The BRM GBD51212 Flex-Hone® is a professional-grade cylinder finishing tool designed for 5.00 inch to 5.50 inch bores, featuring 120-grit Silicon Carbide (120SC) abrasive. Engineered for precision surface conditioning, this Flex-Hone is ideal for deglazing cylinder walls, plateau honing, and preparing bores for new piston rings in both gasoline and diesel engines.

Unlike rigid honing stones, the Flex-Hone uses BRM’s patented flexible abrasive globule design, which conforms to the true geometry of the bore. This design maintains roundness while producing a consistent, oil-retaining crosshatch pattern essential for proper ring seating and reduced break-in time. The 120SC abrasive provides an optimal balance between surface refinement and light material removal, making it well suited for cast iron and steel cylinder liners commonly found in automotive, heavy-duty diesel, industrial, and performance engines.

The GBD51212 is trusted worldwide by engine builders, machine shops, and fleet maintenance professionals. It is designed for use with low-speed drills and should be used with appropriate honing oil to achieve consistent results and maximize tool life.
