This is a air
brake/treadle valve holding tool. This tool was manufactured to hold two treadle valves so
that the attaching air pressure fittings can be exchanged from the old
valve to the new valve. When holding the two valves side by side, the
same exact angle of the pressure fitting can be attained. Some of these
valves can have up to eight or more pressure lines with check valves.
The tool has been blanchard ground flat and comes with attaching
hardware. The SP 67400 Bendix Air Brake Treadle Valve Holding Tool is a specialty service tool designed to secure treadle valves during brake system servicing, allowing technicians to transfer air pressure fittings from an old valve to a new one with precision. This tool holds two treadle valves side by side to maintain identical pressure fitting angles, which is critical for proper alignment when multiple air lines and check valves are involved. It’s particularly useful when replacing Bendix-type foot valves, quick-release valves, relay valves, proportioning valves, and other air brake control components that feature multiple pressure lines.
Brake system valves can have eight or more pressure fittings, and achieving the same exact orientation on a replacement valve can be time-consuming and error-prone without the right tool. The SP 67400’s blanchard-ground flat surface and attaching hardware help technicians hold the valves securely and ensure consistent pressure fitting angles for a smoother installation. This saves time, reduces fitting strain, and improves accuracy in high-pressure air brake applications often seen on heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Engineered to hold two Bendix-type treadle valves side by side for accurate pressure line alignment during servicing.
-
Helps technicians exchange air pressure fittings quickly and consistently between valves.
-
Blanchard-ground flat surface and included hardware provide secure, stable valve holding.
-
Ideal for valves with multiple pressure lines and check valves, reducing guesswork and installation time.
-
Professional tool designed for brake service shops, fleet maintenance operations, and heavy truck repair bays.
Typical Applications
-
Holding Bendix treadle valves for air line fitting transfer
-
Precision servicing of pressure protection valves, relay valves, proportioning valves, and other control valves
-
Brake system overhaul or replacement where multiple air connections must be transferred accurately
Why It Matters
Air brake treadle valves are central to brake system safety and function. Ensuring that pressure fittings maintain the correct angle and orientation during valve replacement helps prevent leaks, air flow issues, and operational failures. The SP 67400 Treadle Valve Holding Tool provides a dedicated solution for technicians to work confidently and efficiently, improving service quality and reducing downtime.
