Something to think about this time of year...
    mechanic humor

Valentines Day is going to be soon upon us. While we all know we have to get something for our loved ones at home, one should never forget to show a little love mechanic's style to let a co-worker know how much they mean to you.

Nothing says 'hey - thanks for loaning me tools this last year' like wiring their horn to the brake light switch.

Making sure that they can enjoy a nice drum solo on the way home, HVAC wire ties around the drive line will give a lively private concert all the way home.

A pile of safety glass by the drivers door will give you co-worker the illusion of having their car broken into. Better if you can roll the window down and put a rock on the seat with something colorful written on it.

If you have a coworker deadly afraid of snakes, a little fishing line tied to the brake pedal and rubber snake under the seat. Nothing says 'I appreciate you' more than a scream like a little girl.

This is a new one for me. But taping a row of plastic harmonicas below the front bumper is said to cause the wail of a dying cat.

Never forget a classic jacking up and blocking the front or back end just above the point the tires makes contact.

It takes a little dedication but wiring the dome light to the wiper motor. You can always throw in the horn and a couple idiot lights for good measure.

Please promise the dead fish/cheese/anything smelly thing needs to go away - this is not good humor just plain mean.

Never forget you can have a friend help in showing just how special a co worker is. A rollback with a fake repo sign works in most cases. If your coworker drives a car/truck that the junkyard will not buy, then this is probably not going to work.

I am sure everyone has some great shop humor - tales of tool boxes shrink wrapped etc.

Happy wrenching and never forget: you only get one time around so have fun!
