Compression testing on high-torque Volvo diesel engines requires an absolute, un-compromised seal at the fuel injector well. When cranking a Volvo E3.1 diesel engine, air inside the combustion chamber reaches peak pressures in a fraction of a second. If a technician uses an improperly fitting universal adapter or fails to replace the lower sealing washer, high-pressure air leaks past the tool body during cranking.
